Early Language Development

Responses to Sounds
Infant gives response to human voice by synchronizing their movements. They are able to recognize their mother’s voice by speech and sound. Early language development is very essential stage for parents to understand. Do you familiar with early language development and how this comes from? I have worked with mothers whose children are growing and they need special attention and knowledge especially first born baby-parents.
Early language development was discovered by Peter D Eimas that the infants are also capable to distinguish between quite similar sounds. In 1971, Eimas exposed that one and four month baby can recognize the relation and sound by understanding the words. He keeps the recording turned on while the baby starts sucking on a nipple (Electronic nipple) which contained a switch.

The first sound on the recorder was pa, pa in which response, baby sucking vigorously, but after some time, he bored and show the passive attitude. On this response the sound was changed from pa, pa to ga, ga by hearing the change in the sound, again baby’s rate of sucking increased significantly.

From this experiment, Eimas concluded that baby able to distinguish between pa, pa and ga, ga. These are the linguistic features detectors are the parts of innate structure of human organisms.
The children in early language development used some very simple words like 'mama' and 'dada' use for their parents. 5-6 month old baby by nodding or shaking of head expressing “yes” or “no” and asking for something as “bobo” for bottle and dodo for animals. In early language development, these words help children to learn their native language very fast and quick. That’s why when you hear somebody you will able to understand from which culture, country he/she belongs to. So, early language development plays important role to give you recognition and help you enhance your abilities with better outcomes in whole life.
